Welcome to Sonoma Baseball.org

We're the group dedicated to bringing minor league baseball back to Sonoma County. Our efforts include establishing an investment group, identifying a Golden League or California League team to acquire, identifying a local ballpark site and ballpark financing, and launching this new business.

Perhaps like you, our children grew up watching the Crushers at Rohnert Park Stadium, and while it sounds cliche, it truly was great fun for the whole family. It was a valued part of living in Sonoma County.

While we can't reveal any pubic information at this time, we are investigating a very promising local ballpark site. About 8-10 acres is required, plus parking.  Yet More Patience
Well, this wasn't easy before the economy went in the tank. Now it's even more challenging.

I get many questions from Sonoma County baseball fans who are trying to get a handle on what, if anythng, will happen on this project. While we've offered several plans, we have been unable to secure a public site from local government. We are persuing a private site, but the process to develop currently undeveloped land in Sonoma County will take 2-3 years to complete.

In the meantime, given the apparent collapse of our economy, the challenge of financing a $20M ballpark becomes all the harder. Corporate sponsorships and naming rights are another major component likely to suffer, at least in the short term. Similarly, the timing is not great for seeking financial help from any local goverment in California.

We have some great plans that would bring genuine benefit to our community, and a group of backers that is committed to making this succesful. Absent the appearance of an angel however, signs do point for the need for yet more patience.
